Delivery

{ COVID-19 UPDATE }

Due to significant delays with some postal services, I have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend international shipping of books and kits until further notice. I plan to resume this service once there is a little more certainty around delivery time frames and reliability. UK orders will be sent out as usual, but may take longer to reach you. PDF patterns will continue to be delivered as normal, both to the UK and internationally. This notice superseded any information listed below for the time being. Thank you so much for your patience.

{ DELIVERY }

Delivery of PDF patterns is free of charge for UK and international customers. I deliver patterns manually by email or file transfer, which means that delivery times can be up to two working days*, and delivery is not available when I am away or on holiday.

For everything else (kits, books, etc.), the details and costs of postage and packaging can be found below. I aim to post orders for material goods no later than two working days* after they are placed. In reality, from Monday to Friday I often despatch orders sooner than this, though as I am working on my own it is not always possible, especially if your order includes "made to order" items (e.g. printed patterns, cut fabrics, etc.). The only time an order will take longer than two working days to despatch is if I am on holiday or working away, in which case I will always put clear announcements in the shop stating the date of my return and when your order will be sent out Please ensure that you enter your address details accurately when you checkout and/or check the delivery address stored in your PayPal account (if you have one) before you order, as Royal Mail (and I in turn) cannot accept liability for a missing parcel if the address it was sent to is unknown or incorrect.

*Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays

{ UK Delivery }

All UK orders are sent by Royal Mail 1st Class delivery, which aims to deliver within 1-3 working days after despatch**. In my experience parcels are often delivered the day after posting, though it is not a guaranteed service and can be delayed during adverse weather conditions or busy periods such as Christmas. Parcels sent by 1st Class Delivery do not require a signature, but most orders will be too large to fit through the letter box and will therefore need to be received by somebody. There is a flat fee for delivery of orders under £50; orders over £50 are delivered free of charge when you enter the code FREEPOST in the discount box at checkout. The total order amount can be made up of any combination of products, including PDF patterns. For example if you ordered £20 of PDF patterns and £30 of kits, delivery for the kits would still be free because the total order amounted to at least £50. **Delivery times are in addition to despatch times - see notes at the top of this page for details.

Everything Else

I will happily post any of my products to anywhere in the world, though because my range has expanded to include things of all shapes and sizes and international postal prices differ so greatly, I now have to calculate my international delivery costs based on size, weight and destination rather than having a flat fee. You can see the exact cost of shipping to your destination before you place an order: simply add the items you want to your shopping cart, then go to the cart page, choose your country from the drop-down menu and click the "update your cart total" link on the right hand side - the total will be shown at the bottom of the shopping cart. You can change the items in your cart and update the delivery total as many times as you want before you place your order - the order will not be processed until you click the "checkout" button. All International orders are sent by Royal Mail Airmail, which aims to deliver within 3 to 7 working days after despatch** depending on where you are in the world. Whilst these times are normally pretty accurate, this is not a guaranteed service and delays can occur if parcels are held by the Customs department in your country before being sent on for delivery. Please also be aware that your country's Customs department may add import duty and charges to your parcel on arrival - unfortunately this is outside of my control. Parcels sent by airmail are not tracked and do not require a signature on delivery. Royal Mail offer an "International Signed For" service or a tracked service for an additional fee, though they are very expensive - if you would prefer to sign for your order on delivery or track it throughout its journey then please contact me with details of the delivery address before you place your order and I will provide you with a quote for the additional cost. **Delivery times are in addition to despatch times - see notes at the top of this page for details.
